This is the first beer in the Seven Year Old beer lineup that I think has a chance. This is the Odell Isolation Ale. This is Odell’s fall offering that should have plenty of malty sweetness and a nice hop finish. However, I don’t expect any of the hops to be in this thing after seven years.

Unfortunately I forgot to photograph this one but it did actually maintain some of its head retention.

It has some of that stale malt syrup aroma that a lot of the other old beers have had but there is more going on here. Big sweet crystal and Munich malt. It tastes old, but the flavor isn’t bad. This has definitely held up better than all the others I’ve tried so far.
